DuMonde Academy

Operational training for teams making decisions under informational pressure.

We translate our research on cognitive defence into interventions designed team by team. Each engagement begins with a documented diagnosis of the institutional context — not a pre-packaged curriculum. No certificates. No franchised methodology. No promises of certainty.

What we do. What we don't.

What we do

  • ✓Documented prior diagnoses of the institutional context before each engagement.
  • ✓offerYes2
  • ✓Workshops for complete teams in their working context — not isolated individuals.
  • ✓Documented post-implementation follow-up, with a 3–6 month audit.
  • ✓Explicit transparency about the limits of each method.

What we don't do

  • ×Certificates or credentials as a 'cognitive defence expert'.
  • ×Franchised training or 'off-the-shelf' methodology.
  • ×Buzzwords without operational content (storytelling, narrative, media literacy alone).
  • ×Promises of immunisation against future information operations.
  • ×Consultancy on topics we have not yet researched in depth.

How we work: four stages

Each Academy engagement follows a sequence of four stages. The first three are conditions for the next: we do not design a workshop without a prior diagnosis, nor a diagnosis without a prior institutional reading. This architecture is slow. It is also the only way to ensure the training fits the team's reality, not an abstract curriculum.

Prior institutional reading

Duration: 2 to 3 weeks.

We map the team's context: what informational materials it receives, what decisions it takes, what qualification chains an alert traverses before becoming a public response. We review the institutional texts framing its work. This phase does not yet produce training — it produces a diagnosis that is delivered to the team and discussed before continuing.

Documented diagnosis

Deliverable: written document of 15 to 25 pages + discussion session.

We identify the two or three areas of greatest exposure or greatest procedural weakness in the specific team. The diagnosis is delivered in writing, with cited sources and explicit limitations.

Bespoke operational framework

Duration: from 4 hours (focused briefing) to 40 hours (extended accompaniment).

We design the intervention from the diagnosis, not from a pre-packaged curriculum. The programme is modular according to the team's availability and the depth of the problem identified.

Post-implementation audit

Timeline: 3 to 6 months after the intervention.

We review what of the framework has been integrated into the team's practice and what has not. This audit does not measure service quality — it measures methodological honesty. Our own frameworks are updated from these observations.

Services

Information exposure diagnosis

For a specific team in a specific context: which types of information operations are most likely to affect it, what qualification chains an alert traverses within the organisation, which points are most exposed to cognitive capture.

Deliverable: 15–25 page document + discussion session. Timeline: 3 to 5 weeks.

Internal fragmentation mapping

When an organisation handles a politically sensitive topic internally (Russia, gender, migration, the Middle East conflict), internal fractures harden and the capacity for common decision-making erodes. We map those fractures — not to resolve them, but to make them visible to the actors involved — and propose protocols for managing disagreement under informational saturation.

Timeline: 4 to 6 weeks.

Response framework for information operations

serviceFrameworkDesc

Timeline: 6 to 8 weeks, including a practical simulation.

Extended internal training

For institutions that want to build lasting internal competence. Modular programme of 20 to 40 hours, integrated into the team's daily work rather than removing it from its context. Multilingual (ES / FR / EN).

Timeline: 3 to 6 months, depending on pace.

Who this training is designed for

  • —Institutional communications teams that must respond to FIMI campaigns in short time cycles (24 to 72 hours).
  • —Editorial leadership building editorial processes to handle platform opacity during electoral cycles.
  • —Ministerial cabinet services or European bodies that articulate, under political pressure, multiple qualification chains (technical, judicial, diplomatic).
  • —NGO and civil society teams mediating in polarised contexts without losing their communicational independence.
  • —Deontological or ethics committees at platforms and media outlets that need to formalise criteria for distinguishing legitimate debate from hostile operations.

From research to practice

researchP1

Our research updates from institutional practice — and our practice updates from research. We do not sell closed courses; we offer access to an applied research programme in construction.

DuMonde Lab is a young institution. That means we do not have the legacy of decades of work — and it also means our frameworks are current, our research is first-hand, and our training adapts to each team rather than reproducing what worked ten years ago. What we cannot compensate with tradition we compensate with care: every client receives a diagnosis before any intervention and an audit after. We do not promise certainty. We promise rigour.

A briefing is an initial conversation — with no commitment — about your team's context and whether our approach is suited to your situation. If it is not, we will tell you. If it is, we will propose a prior diagnosis. Response time: 5 working days.
